Coney Island Houses
Situated adjacent to the iconic boardwalk, Coney Island Houses is a complex that contains five buildings, each of which has 14 stories and houses 535 residences. Mobilized for an emergency contract, ROMA secured unsafe areas directly beneath deteriorating and leaning parapets. After coordinating with the New York City Housing Authority to determine the repair scope, we installed multiple suspended scaffold systems to tackle the demolition of brickwork quickly and safely. We demolished existing parapets to the top-floor window lintels and rebuilt to match original heights and aesthetics. Installations extended to new window lintels, waterproofing, and wall ties.
Throughout the construction period, ROMA ensured that the work area was secured and that the residents were minimally affected. The project was completed in six months, during which we returned the buildings to their original conditions.
